Erika Buettmann, Pharm.D.

Erika Buettmann is a well-rounded clinical pharmacist with more than 10 years of experience across health-system, community, and specialty pharmacy settings. Erika recently joined Trinity Medical as a Medical Writer, where she contributes to clinical content development and review.

Erika graduated magna cum laude from the University of Missouri–Kansas City with a PharmD and began her career with Schnucks Markets in community pharmacy, serving patients throughout the St. Louis metro area. During her time at Schnucks, she served as Pharmacist-in-Charge and developed into a strong leader in pharmacy operations, medication therapy management, staff development and training, and the implementation of workflow and policy improvements to enhance patient safety and medication adherence. She also played a key role in transitioning pharmacy services to a CVS business model following a business acquisition.

Prior to joining Trinity, Erika also served as a clinical pharmacist at SSM St. Louis University Hospital. There, she helped establish a bedside discharge medication delivery program and expanded her experience in clinical collaboration within a teaching hospital environment. She also worked with the transitions-of-care team in the Bridge Clinic and later collaboratively led the specialty pharmacy branch, primarily serving patients in solid organ transplant, bone marrow transplant, GI/liver, and dermatology clinics.

Building on this experience, Erika transitioned to a specialty team pharmacist role with Optime Care, where she provided consultation and support to patients living with rare diseases. She specifically worked with patients with hypercortisolism as part of the SPARK program and later served as the lead pharmacist for prior authorizations and appeals within the program.

In her spare time, Erika enjoys spending time with her family—her husband, daughter, son, and Golden Retriever mix, Georgia—as well as friends. When she can, she enjoys traveling, golfing, and exploring new restaurants.
